Elect Me

Ben Chapman

Write-In Candidate - State Senate 51st

Questions & Answers

You are unopposed in the upcoming Primary Election, why is it important for your Champaign County constituents to still vote in the March 20th Election?

I am a write-in candidate. In order for me to be placed on the November ballot to oppose Chapin Rose, I must surpass a high threshold of write-in votes. Senator Rose has been unchallenged for far too long, and has taken many stances that he has yet to adequately explain to his constituents. It’s time for that to change. By writing in my name, you will help ensure that the Illinois 51st State Senate seat is held by someone who truly listens to their constituents.

Is there a particular seat or race on the Democratic Primary ballot that you think is important for your constituents to pay attention to?

Certainly, I’d like for everyone to pay attention to the race I am in. I wouldn’t be running if it wasn’t important. However, as I am unchallenged in March, I would also like to point to the Illinois 13th U.S. House race. Congressman Rodney Davis has failed magnificently in representing the 13th District, and it is time to replace him. This election is an opportunity to directly show the Trump Administration that we will not stand for the chaos and havoc they have wrought upon our nation and our public discourse. We need to put diverse, intelligent, independent thinkers in office who can come together and solve the complex problems that our nation faces every day.

Any other information you would like to add for undecided voters in Champaign County?

You can follow my campaign page here: Ben Chapman for State Senate. I will keep it updated with the goings-on of the Illinois 51st District. If you offer me the chance to serve you in the Illinois State Senate, I will fight every day for the welfare of my constituents. My platform emphasizes three areas: public health, the environment, and income inequality. On public health, we need massive improvements in preventative care, and to do that, we must ensure every single person in Illinois has access to health insurance. On the environment, we must recognize that preservation of nature and the maintenance of unpolluted landscapes and farmland aren’t simply lofty ideals of treehuggers, they’re the baseline for how we should treat our planet. And on income inequality, we must revitalize America’s middle class because that is where the true gears of our economy grind. If these are issues that speak to you, I would love to have your support.
