Champaign County - Illinois Primary 2024
Our Candidate Guide traditionally only covers Contested Elections, ones with more than 1 candidate running for a seat. As a voter in a primary election you may only select a Democratic or Republican Party ballot, and can only vote for candidates within that party, so there must be 2 candidates of the same party running for the same seat for that to be a contested race.
You may notice there are only a handful of contested candidates listed for the 2024 Champaign County Primary Election. It can be difficult to say why less people are running. However, it takes a lot of work to run for elected office, not to mention a lot of personal pressure to be put in the public spotlight. Running for office is no small task.
