One of Urbana City Council’s newest members is also it’s youngest. Jared Miller is just 32 years old, and shows that politics is not just for the older generations.

The News-Gazette has done an excellent article that goes into further detail about how Millennials, and people of all ages, can get involved in politics.

How is youth political participation different from political participation in general ? Beforehand, as new legal frameworks are put in place, appropriate advocacy can advance provisions for the participation of youth.

    I am still doing the research, but conventional wisdom would say the youth don’t get as involved as the older generations, and turn out in fewer numbers. So it is always very encouraging to see youth take a more active roll. But I agree, political participation for every age category is very important and should be encouraged.
