The U.S. Senate is a very important Office for the residents of Champaign County because there are only 2 U.S. Senators representing the entire state of Illinois. The seat I am running for is currently held by Dick Durbin. He is the poster child for term limits having been in congress for 38 years and the U.S. Senate for 24 years. I intend to be the U.S. Senator that will protect the freedom of the residents of Champaign County against attacks on religious liberty, the right to bear arms and socialism. My career in law enforcement will allow me to help our government protect its citizens from the growing opioid threat as well as narco street gangs and Islamic jihadists. The residents of Champaign County need a U.S. Senator that will help bring job back to Illinois by promoting a business-friendly climate. Currently, Illinois leads the Nation in population decline, unfunded pensions, lowest credit rating and heaviest tax burden. If the residents of Champaign have had enough of these Democrat policies that go after their guns, religion, money and freedom than they should vote for Sheriff Mark Curran the only electable candidate.

I have a lifetime of experience that has qualified me to be a U.S. Senator. I gave up trying to make any big money out of law school and chose instead to spend about 15 years as a county, state and federal prosecutor. I was the Lake County Sheriff from 2006-2018. I went to the Police Academy as Sheriff and received significant training from the FBI, Northwestern and Boston University as well. I did essentially every job in the Office. I came in under budget 12 years in a row as Sheriff. I also managed a multimillion-dollar health care budget/ system for the Lake County Jail. I had approximately 600 employees and most of them belonged to a labor union. I kept Lake County safe and helped significantly lowered the crime rate. My time as a prosecutor included representing murder, rape and property crime victims. I handled a significant number of cases in Champaign County as a state and federal prosecutor. I have been a small business owner as an attorney nd landlord. Additionally, I taught Constitutional Law for years and I am able to defend the God given liberty that is important to the residents of Champaign County.

If I am elected United States Senator, I want to accomplish many things. I think one of the most important things that I can do is make sure that America is safe. A recent pew study showed that 7 percent of all Muslim Americans believe that it sometimes acceptable to kill civilians in the name of Islam and 1 percent believe it is always acceptable. We have narco terrorists bringing fentanyl and heroin over the border on a regular basis and killing young Americans. I am the only candidate that has worked with all of our justice partners including the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms (ATF), Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE). I have traveled to Israel as a guest of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). I understand the threats to America from abroad. I taught Constitutional Law for many years and I understand what legislation is constitutional and necessary. I have prosecuted a significant number of white-collar crimes as well and I know how to go after the crooks that take advantage of the vulnerable in the business world. Simply put I will do what is necessary to protect America from the dangerous immigrants, radical Islam, and the opiates that are a real threat to our future.

I think an undecided voter should know that I was consistently the highest Republican vote getter in Lake County Illinois. I am pro-life, pro-gun and pro-constitution. I was a very popular Sheriff that knows all about winning elections. None of my opponents has won an election. I am the guy that can get it done. I need the help of Champaign County so that I can go to Washington and help keep America safe and great.
