For the April 2019 Election

What is the importance of the District 193 School Board to your constituents?

I cannot speak for my constituents but I would hope they would want the District 193 school board to represent them at the highest level.

Listed below are a few concerns I would hope my constituents would have.
1. Safe environment for students.
2. Strong administration, excellent teachers and a good support staff.
3. Provide classes for college bound students, classes for students wanting to go directly into the work force and classes for special needs students.
4. When making board decisions keeping in mind all communities that feed into RTHS and how decisions will affect RTHS students.
5. Being a watchdog for how tax dollars are spent.

Why are you qualified to be on the School Board?

Eight years as a District 193 board member.
Spent 34 years in education as a teacher, coach and athletic director.
Have lived in District 193 school district all my life.
Grew up on farm north of Rantoul.
Have a masters degree in Educational Administration.

If elected, what is something you want to accomplish on the School Board, and how long will it take?

Would like to see the completion of RTHS switching to Competency Based Education. Administration and teachers are working hard toward the end results but will still take time.

Would like to see the gym lobby and restrooms renovation completed. Hopefully project can be completed in the next four years.

Is there anything else you would like to say to an undecided voter?

Just know that I care about RTHS. I will always advocate for RTHS to be a safe place for the students that attend. I will watch over your tax dollars to the best of my ability and I will use good common sense when making decisions.
