"I cannot speak for my constituents but I would hope they would want the District 193 school board to represent them at the highest level.

Listed below are a few concerns I would hope my constituents would have.
1. Safe environment for students.
2. Strong administration, excellent teachers and a good support staff.
3. Provide classes for college bound students, classes for students wanting to go directly into the work force and classes for special needs students.
4. When making board decisions keeping in mind all communities that feed into RTHS and how decisions will affect RTHS students.
5. Being a watchdog for how tax dollars are spent."
Monica Hall
"The board is important to my constituents because the board is the voice of the community. Its job is to develop policies affecting children and to make sure the school is fiscally responsible. It is important for the board to listen to the community and to work with them to set goals for the school while complying with policies and regulations set by the state."

Monica Hall
"I am qualified to be a board member because I have been involved with helping students achieve academic goals for 10 years. I have taught at both public and private universities and a community college. I understand the challenges students face upon graduation and what academic goals need to be achieved in high school to help foster success afterwards. Whether a student chooses to enter the workforce, go to a trade school, join the military or enter college right after high school; they need to have certain skills that need to be solidified in high school. I have lived in Rantoul almost my entire life and I understand the needs of the people."

"Would like to see the completion of RTHS switching to Competency Based Education. Administration and teachers are working hard toward the end results but will still take time.

Would like to see the gym lobby and restrooms renovation completed. Hopefully project can be completed in the next four years."
Monica Hall
"If elected, I would like to increase the diversity of teachers at RTHS so they more closely reflect the demographics of the community. I would also like to reduce the teacher turnover rate. With 95% of the teachers being white and 60% female, hiring even 1 or 2 Black or Hispanic teachers should be attainable within a year. It will take longer, about 5 years to significantly increase the diversity."

"Just know that I care about RTHS. I will always advocate for RTHS to be a safe place for the students that attend. I will watch over your tax dollars to the best of my ability and I will use good common sense when making decisions."
Monica Hall
"If elected to the board, I promise to keep an open line of communication between the board and community. I will do my best to make sure RTHS continues to produce students who are well prepared to be productive members of society no matter what path they choose after graduation."
